George can be a bit harsh on Lennie sometimes, and Lennie doesn't really do anything about it but take it in. "All the time somethin' like that, all the time. I wisht I could put you in a cage with about a million mice an' let you have fun." George has the characteristics of what a guy like Lennie should have, while Lennie has the characteristics of what a guy like George should have. It's like they switched roles. Most of the time, George does all the speaking, since Lennie can barely speak for himself. "Then why don't you let him answer? What you trying to put over?" "Oh! I ain't saying he's bright. He ain't. But I say he's a God damn good worker..." The way George handles tough situations are different from when Lennie handles things. George rants in tough situations while Lennie just waits until they find a solution. George is basically a sassy and bossy kind of guy, that likes to be right and be in charge of everything.

Chunky Paragraph Character Evaluation: George
George is the type of guy that goes with the famous saying, "small but terrible." He's a bit of an obnoxious character, and often uses the word "damn" in most of his sentences. "... 'Jes' a little stretch.' God damn near four miles, that's what it was!... Too God damn lazy to pull up. Wonder he isn't too damn good to stop in Soledad at all... I bet it was more than four miles. Damn hot day." George is a bit under stress, since his friend Lennie, has gotten them into trouble. And since then, they've been trying to get a new job somewhere else. "Jes' wanted to feel that girl's dress... Jes' wanted to pet it like it was a mouse... Well how the hell did she know you jus' wanted to feel her dress? She jerks back and you hold on like it was a mouse." He's basically had enough of Lennie's wrong-doings, and he wants to get rid of him, but he knows that Lennie wouldn't be able to do anything on his own. So he continues to take care of him, as well as because he made a promise to Aunt Clara to take care of Lennie.
