Presented in a box,
The box that symbolizes my home.
I can carry only so much,
But sometimes for some people it’s easier for it to fall apart.
The toppings scatter,
Each one representing a trait in my personality.
Pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapples, and so much more.
They all mean something.
Pepperoni can be bold,
Mushrooms can be weird and confusing
Pineapples make up the sweet part for my friendly, caring, and loyal traits.
Me and my life, are symbolized as pizza.
Ordering a new type of pizza,
Since we can be a bit curious
The taste is unpredictable,
Till you take a bite,
Tasting an unfamiliar combination that is quite spontaneous
I, am willing to try out some new things.
The crust, that holds it all together, it all makes perfect sense.
I carry it all, trying to keep it together.
The friends, the family, and all of my problems.
Just remember though,
You can always buy another pizza,
But you can never buy another life.
Overall, great poem. Your connection to your life and pizza was very interesting and detailed well. liked your use of metaphors throughout the poem and it ran very smoothly. Although, one thing that you could improve on was your last two lines in the last stanza. I feel like it didn't match your poem and I think that you should change it.
ReplyDeleteIn the poem I think that it is unclear in the beginning that you are the pizza because you say that you carry only so much, this confuses you with the box even though you said it is your home, and instead of just saying what the toppings mean, you need to describe your personality better. I think think the pizza is showing just emotions and feelings that you have instead of what you are like. But good job.
